Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 July 2026
These terms govern your use of MechanoMan — the management app, portals and API for mobile mechanic businesses ("the service"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. The service is offered to businesses, not consumers.
1. Your account
- You must give accurate details when signing up and keep them up to date.
- You are responsible for your team's use of the service and for keeping credentials secure. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
- Owners control who on their team can see and change what; those permissions are enforced by the service but choosing them sensibly is up to you.
2. Trial, subscriptions and payment
- New accounts start with a free trial — no card required. When the trial ends, continued use requires a paid subscription.
- Fees are in GBP, billed in advance through Stripe, plus VAT where applicable. Current pricing is shown on the pricing page; we will give at least 30 days' notice of price changes, taking effect at your next renewal.
- If a payment fails we will retry and notify you; while an account has no active subscription, access to the service is suspended (your data is retained — see section 4).
- You can cancel any time from the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Except where the law requires otherwise, fees already paid are not refunded.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for anything unlawful, including sending spam or storing data you have no right to hold;
- attempt to breach, probe or overload the service, or access another business's data;
- resell or white-label the service without our written agreement.
We may suspend accounts that put the service or other customers at risk, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
4. Your data
- The data your business records in the service is yours. We process it only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
- Each business's data is held in its own isolated database.
- You can export your data at any time. If your subscription ends, your data is retained for a reasonable wind-down period so you can export or resubscribe, then deleted — except records we must keep by law.
- You are the controller of your customers' personal data and are responsible for having a lawful basis to record it.
5. Availability and support
We aim to keep the service available around the clock, but it is provided "as is" — we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Planned maintenance will be announced in advance where practical. The app is offline-first: work recorded in the field syncs when a connection returns, but you should not rely on the service as your only copy of legally required records.
6. Intellectual property
We own the service and its software; you get a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it for your business while subscribed. You own your data and your branding; you grant us only the licence needed to host and display them in providing the service.
7. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or loss of data, and our total liability arising out of the service in any 12-month period is capped at the fees you paid us in that period.
8. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may terminate on 30 days' notice, or immediately for a serious breach of these terms. Sections 4, 6 and 7 survive termination.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. For material changes we will notify account owners by email at least 30 days before they take effect; continued use after that is acceptance.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
